I chose a crayon because art is one of my favorite things to do so a form of art supplies seemed fitting. I also really enjoy skating, so i turned the crayon into a skateboard. I usually do not draw people but when I do I like to give them very long limbs in a more cartoon style.

I chose to recreate a piece done by Vanessa Stockard, who is known for incorporating her cat into all of her paintings. I chose this painting because her cat looks similar to mine, same with the chair. I hand made the white piece around the cats neck to replicate the one the cat wore in the painting, and learned that it is very difficult to measure a cats neck without it trying to escape the entire time.

I don't think i used a full range of values, i only used 4 colors for the whole piece because it was all i had. My piece is nowhere near as detailed as Georgia O' O'Keeffe, but i think with the shading i represented her art fairly well. I used yellow, lime green, dark green, and black for my drawing. i used the lime green to blend the yellow and ark green together, creating a gradient. I used the yellow to bring more focus to areas that were brighter, and the dark green for darker areas. I had a difficult time getting the colors to show up super vibrant on the paper, and blending together was also a bit of a struggle. next time, I could use more colors to add more detail.
